The SPH Golf-Takashimaya Golf & Travel Fair 2019 will take place from March 21 – 24 at Takashimaya Square, B2. Admission is free.

Building on the success of the inaugural event last year, the 2019 edition of the golf-centric travel fair will offer much more within an even bigger venue, and will be extended to spread over four days instead of three, from March 21st to 24th.

Taking place at the basement of Takashimaya Shopping Centre along Orchard Road, this year’s fair will be almost three times bigger in size than the one held at Marina Square Shopping Mall, which drew a crowd of over 5,000 across three days.

There will be plenty of deals on offer with an expected 30 individual booths consisting of the finest golf clubs in the region such as Angkor Golf Resort, Bintan Lagoon Resort, The Els Club, Foison Golf Club, Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club, Kota Permai Golf & Country Club, Palm Springs Golf & Beach Resort, Pattana Golf Club & Resort, Ria Bintan Golf Club, Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort, Thana City Country Club and the three courses under the Laguna Golf Group in Bintan, Lăng Cô and Phuket.

Hoteliers such as Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa, Swissotel Bangkok Ratchada, and AccorHotels’ Hotel Baraquda Pattaya MGallery by Sofitel and Mercure Pattaya Hotel will also be present at the fair.

The fair will also feature four Country Pavilions helmed by tourism boards and will be taken up by The Tourism Authority of Thailand, Ministry of Tourism, Republic of Indonesia, Tourism Malaysia and the Philippine Department of Tourism. Within each Country Pavilion, they will be showcasing the very best golfing destinations from their respective nations.

However, aside from golf, the SPH Golf-Takashimaya Golf & Travel Fair 2019 will also place an equal emphasis on the other aspects of golf tourism.

Visitors to the fair can also expect exhibitors such as Royal Brunei Airlines, China golf tour operator HaiKou Nice Golf Co., Prudential, and Sakura Residence – Malaysia’s first luxury prefabricated landed property that utilizes Japanese technology, nestled in Sunway Iskandar, Johor.

Developments such as Leisure Farm in Malaysia and Sanctuary Cove in Australia will also be showcased at the fair.

The Takashimaya golf section, a staple of the department store’s Sports Department, will boost the fair’s retail offerings with two dedicated areas to showcase the various brands offered at their golf section. This would be in addition to other golf retail brands, such as Green Golf Fashion, that will also be present at the fair.

Analyse your Swing

Of the latest entrants to Singapore’s unique golf travel fair are Batam’s Radisson Golf & Convention Center, China tee time booking application, Gaotoo, and GOLFTEC, one of the industry’s best golf instruction centres.

Opening their doors in Singapore on July 2017, GOLFTEC provides a fact-based analysis of the golf swing with instant video feedback and proprietary Motion Measurement Technology.

Along with their dedicated coaches, visitors to the fair will get to experience firsthand the high tech swing analysis with data accumulated from over 20 years of swing research at the GOLFTEC simulator throughout the duration of the event.

In making the SPH Golf-Takashimaya Golf & Travel Fair a wholesome family affair, there will be a putting area for the younger ones, specially put together by the Singapore Golf Association.

A New Partnership with Gaotoo, China’s Premier Golf Booking App

SPH Golf members will soon enjoy access to over 100 courses in China at preferential rates with the Gaotoo golf booking mobile app.

In addition to its vast number of clubs within its database, Gaotoo also offers heavily discounted rates, with discounts of up to 65% off usual rates.

Launched in 2015, Gaotoo is the brainchild of Professor Tommy Wu, an avid golfer from China who, through his years of research and management experience on golf projects, has gathered a network of over 240 key industry contacts such as golf course general managers, industry personalities and major golf media leaders.

With the Gaotoo golf booking app, golfers enjoy a streamlined process of securing a tee time at clubs such as Mission Hills Golf Club, Kunming Sunshine Golf Club, Nanshan International Golf Club and Anhui Huangshan Pine Golf & Country Club. Upon selecting a club, available dates are shown, along with the rates per golfer and the booking is finalised once payment is made via the golf booking app.

Gaotoo goes well beyond booking tee times, with the ability for golfers to rate and share their experience after playing at any of the courses available on the app and hosting a “Members Cup” – a biweekly tournament that is held at different courses to promote friendly competition among Gaotoo members, as well as meet new people.

In an exclusive partnership with the SPH Golf Card, new registrants who sign up to be a member at the upcoming SPH Golf-Takashimaya Golf & Travel Fair 2019 will have the option of adding on a VIP Gaotoo membership at a rate of S$60, regardless of the membership category. After which, members will be provided a unique user ID and password that will give them full access to the app.

With this, SPH Golf members will be able to gain premium access to the Gaotoo golf booking platform and book tee times at specially discounted rates at courses across China.
